Carroll Gardens Townhouse Rental, Asking $11,750 a Month, Is Downright Pretty

August 10, 2015

There are some New York City townhouses that are so extravagant they are downright intimidating. Then there are others that have been renovated, lost all their interior details, and are downright boring. This one, at 152 Luquer Street in Carroll Gardens, isn’t either. It’s simply a lovely, pretty building with just enough historic interior details and just enough modern renovation. There’s nothing to hate about it, in our modest opinion. The full townhouse is now up on the rental market, asking $11,750 a month.

The townhouse spans roughly 3,000 square feet over four stories. The living room still has its decorative fireplace, ceiling medallion, moldings and restored plank floors. We love the built-in shelving surrounding the fireplace. The eat-in kitchen is much more modern after a recent renovation. From here, there’s a door that leads out to the backyard.

There are four bedrooms in total, all of which look spacious. How pretty are those wall details? And how much do you love those large, townhouse-style windows?

More upgrades are to be found in the bathrooms—there are two-and-a-half throughout the house. This one’s got marble countertops for the sink and bathtub, as well as a green subway-tile floor.

And of course, if you’re renting the entire townhouse you get the perk of a private backyard. It’s mostly paved over with some greenery on the periphery, which makes this a pretty nice spot to throw an outdoor party. Unfortunately, the greenery you’re getting outside of the apartment is the Gowanus Canal, which leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to nature in Brooklyn. Safer to stick to the fun bars and restaurants that are just within a few block’s of this location.
