For $450K There’s a Lot to Love About This Sweet Cornelia Street Studio
It’s not Valentine’s Day yet, but for anyone who’s dreamed of a lovely little garrett in the West Village, with plenty of whitewashed brick and an enchanted garden, we can see this impossibly charming studio co-op at 24 Cornelia Street tucked into a heart-shaped box. And the price, a fairly lovable $450,000, might set hearts aflutter, too; it’s hard enough to find any apartment in New York City for under $500,000, let alone in the West Village.
If you’re in the market for a studio, it’s hard to argue with lots of sunlight, high ceilings, big windows, white brick, a decorative fireplace, a large bathroom (though it’s not pictured) and great closet space, wrapped up in a bright, airy package with loads of charm.
The kitchen, though teeny and bare-bones (no dishwasher, sadly), looks both functional and cool, with alternating sections of black and white accented by stainless steel. According to the listing the kitchen area is eat-in-sized.
Not just pretty on the inside: We’re guessing this is the building’s “huge private garden,” which is a nice thing to have.
Of course, no apartment is perfect, and there are plenty of obvious tradeoffs. This is definitely a studio, and not even a large one. Given the apartment’s number, we’re guessing there’s more than a bit of a walk up to reach your heavenly home; there’s the aforementioned lack of a dishwasher; add the expense of any renovations you want to do, and this may not look quite as much like a super-deal.
But when it comes to location, it’s nearly impossible to beat this neighborhood. We’ll leave you with this listing image of the lovely streetscape that surrounds this low-six-figure find. All this, in a well-maintained co-op building with a live-in super, a garden, laundry–and a liberal sublet/guarantor/co-purchasing policy. We have a feeling that “this one will go fast” actually applies here.
