Upstate Adirondack-Style Cabin by James Thomas Is a Cheerful Winter Retreat
Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays is nearing an end, we’re daydreaming about winding down in a cozy winter cabin, complete with snowy views and warm, crackling fires. And this upstate Adirondack-style cabin by James Thomas is exactly what we’ve been envisioning. Though the family retreat can’t produce snow on the spot, it can offer a tranquil getaway with two fireplaces, comfortable furniture, and an organic mix of natural wood and stone.
When James Thomas was hired for the project, the house was a dark, cramped cabin. The firm transformed it into a cheerful family retreat by building an addition, opening up the rooms, and updating the interior with a classic yet contemporary style that gives a nod to the original Adirondack style.
The homeowners sought a fresh vibe, which is achieved through vintage pieces mixed with custom furnishings and bright, bold fabrics mixed with soft linens and neutrals. Can’t stop ogling this lovely cabin? See more pictures in our gallery below, and check out all of James Thomas’s work here.
