$2.7M Noho triplex stuns with library walls, glass ceilings, and gilded mirrors
The listing for this 3,000-square-foot home at 710 Broadway in Noho invokes Shakespeare, but we think the triplex, asking $2.695 million, has loftier ambitions. The three-story space is ideal for “an artist, photographer, bibliophile, therapist, or just somebody who likes to entertain,” or even someone who doesn’t: It’s built for privacy, with sleeping areas tucked away on the top and bottom floors and public areas in between (h/t Curbed). A glass-topped solarium awaits off the bookshelf-lined living room, and a lower level opens onto an enclosed patio for solitary or social pursuits.
Beneath double-height barrel-vaulted ceilings, the apartment, we’re told, is quieter than an actual library. Ionic columns support tall arches in the cavernous 42-foot living space. The living room with its wall of bookshelves and library ladder holds at least one of four gilded antique mirrors that come with the property and make the space seem even more endless.
A hallway leading to the 16-foot dining area boasts a wood-burning fireplace. A galley kitchen can be enclosed by pocket doors when it’s not open for business; a skylit solarium off the living room has a raised platform with concrete flooring and a mirrored wall.
Overlooking the dining area and kitchen, a mezzanine with nine-foot ceilings holds a large sleeping area and a third full bathroom, plus a spacious home office or sitting room
On the loft’s lower level is a master suite with 10-foot barrel vaulted ceilings. A wide sitting room with high vaulted ceilings faces an enclosed patio (not pictured). A spacious home office joins two bathrooms, one en-suite, and a laundry area with a washer/dryer.
Throughout the home are abundant closets and storage and individually controlled air conditioning units. The co-op loft building offers a basement storage unit and bike storage.
