Look inside Roberta Flack’s mirror-covered Dakota apartment, now $2M cheaper
Roberta Flack first listed her Dakota apartment in June 2015 for $9.5 million, and it’s now come back on the market for $7.5 million with rare interior photos, reports LL NYC. We can’t imagine all those wall-to-wall mirrors will help her case, but it’s always a treat to get a look inside the storied address, especially when the unit is next door to none other than Yoko Ono.
Flack, the Grammy winner who produced such songs as “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” and “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” has lived in the Dakota for almost 40 years. Her 2,000-square-foot apartment has two bedrooms, 12-foot ceilings, and four wood-burning fireplaces. Despite the very 1990s-esque mirrored walls, original pre-war details remain, including three mantles, shutter-framed windows, oak floors, mahogany and ash moldings, doors, and door frames, and plaster moldings.
The 36-foot-by-24-foot living room, large enough for two sitting areas, opens directly to the dining room, which can seat a dozen or more guests. Both rooms have fireplaces and are wrapped with a Juliette balcony that spans more than half the length of the apartment and offers stunning views of Central Park. The master suite has room for a separate sitting area, and both bedrooms feature fireplaces.
