Free People art director lists boho-chic loft in Greenwich Village for $999K
This gorgeous loft at 77 Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village has undergone a big renovation and hit the market for a hair under $1 million. The seller is Lauren Cohan, an art director at Free People, who purchased it in 2015 for $635,000. Post reno, the space has a decidedly Free People vibe, with quirky interior design complimented by lofty features like high ceilings and exposed brick.
You step right into a eye-popping living room, which boasts 13-foot ceilings and double-height, east-facing windows. All that is framed by exposed brick and custom millwork. From this space, walnut steps lead out to a newly-refinished Juliet balcony.
The kitchen got a lot of TLC in the renovation and now has fancy appliances, walnut cabinetry, a breakfast bar and an adjacent alcove that quickly converts to a dining area. By keeping it open, the lower floor of the loft has been optimized as an entertainment space.
The new staircase was relocated near the entryway and leads to the bedroom loft.
The beamed ceiling, painted white, compliments the rest of the apartment well. A custom bookshelf lines the bedroom mezzanine, and there’s enough space up here for a large bed and California closet. (There’s also a walk-in closet underneath the staircase.)
77 Bleecker, right in the center of the Village, is a four-building co-op built between 1866 and 1883, then reconstructed in 1979. But we think this apartment’s latest 2016 renovation really takes the cake.
