Camp Out in a Sioux Tipi on a Woodstock Waterfall for $168/Night
Forget the hassle of pitching a flimsy tent, and camp out in an authentic, 18-foot Sioux Tipi. Located along a waterfall on the Sawkill Creek in Woodstock, this tipi was handmade and painted by artists at the Nomadics Tipi Makers and features a cozy stone fireplace right in its center, as well as another one outside near the river. Intrigued? It’s up for rent for $168/night on Airbnb.
The Sioux Tipi occupies its own corner of a larger, two-and-a-half acre estate, which has a main house, barn, cottage, fruit trees, gardens, and tea house. Tipi guests have access to to the “tipi room,” a separate structure with a desk, WiFi, electricity, and refrigerator. There’s also an outdoor shower, outhouse, kitchen sink, and laundry room for renters.
Within the tipi itself is a double mattress, a futon, and a solar electric setup that can power two lamps and chargers for small electronics. There’s a propane camping cooking range inside, and outside there’s a propane barbecue grill, picnic table, and waterfront fire pit.
For more outdoor adventures, the tipi is directly across from Comeau Park, a 77-acre outdoor space with a two-mile walking trail, tennis courts, and sports fields.
