Jennifer Lawrence Scopes Out a $17.5M Duplex Penthouse in Tribeca
It’s been about a year since Jennifer Lawrence first started her house hunt, and according to The Post, the starlet is showing no signs of giving up on finding the home of her dreams. Gimme Shelter writes that J.Law was just spotted checking out a $17.49 million penthouse in Tribeca’s 140 Franklin Street. According to the listing, the sprawling pad is “intelligently designed and exceptionally renovated” spanning two stories of the building with more than 4,000 feet of interior space and 1,640 square feet of private outdoor terrace. The pre-war 1887 building itself is described as “ultra-discreet” with full-time doorman, on-site staff and just 12 loft residences; A perfect arrangement for an A-lister with a taste for eight-figure apartments.
The listing writes that the home has undergone a renovation by interior designer Robert Stilin. Some architectural highlights include a massive skylight, nine large windows spanning the main living space, a steel staircase and wrought iron beams and columns that frame, and distinguish, the chef’s kitchen from the main space.
There’s also a functioning fireplace and a network enabled lighting, shades and sound system with speakers installed throughout the penthouse.
The kitchen features a beautiful French custom stone island and countertops, and waxed oak cabinetry by RJ Millwork. There’s also a 150-bottle wine refrigeration system, a Wolf oven, Miele built-in coffee maker, a 48-inch Sub-Zero fridge, and not one, but three dishwashers.
All three “well-proportioned” bedrooms have their own en-suite bathroom.
An office/library/media space is situated off the terrace, but could easily be turned into a bedroom. Sliding glass doors open up to the outdoor area.
The terrace is a sweet setup decked out with grill and 15-foot prep station, a dining area and a lounge area—all placed agains skyline views, of course. All in all this is one sun-soaked home.
Last year, Lawrence (with then-beau Chris Martin in tow, per the Daily News) eyed a number of other Tribeca apartments, including a $15.25M three-bedroom at 443 Greenwich, a $9.9M five-bedroom at 71 Laight, and a $10M pad at 429 Greenwich Street.
