Windsor Terrace Home Plays With Patterned Accent Walls and Funky Decor
At first glance, it’s the colorful design of this Windsor Terrace home that really catches the eye. But zoom in and you’ll see that the aesthetic is more than just bold hues–it’s patterned walls, textured art, text-based accents, and allover playful decor. The renovation was led by the design team at Rinaldi Interior Design, whose principal Kristina Rinaldi says she “tailors each project to the personality and interests of her clients.” If that’s the case, whoever is living in this cheerful Brooklyn home is definitely upbeat, fun, and doesn’t take him or herself too seriously.
The living room features classic built-ins complimented with contemporary furniture and an eye-popping blue carpet. Our favorite detail, however, is the small accent pillow with the words “I LOVE THIS PLACE” written in the same color as the carpet.
The celebrated blue hue is carried over into the adjacent dining room, where it’s used playfully on the room’s fun underwater wall treatment.
The front entryway is chock full of surprising details, including a pig made from wooden shipping containers and a set of plates depicting animals dressed in hipster styles. It culminates with the vibrant pink door that leads to a bathroom covered in cherry wallpaper.
Smaller more intimate areas for lounging are scattered throughout the home, like this cozy nook boasting an in-your-face floral wall treatment balanced out by the neutral tones in the furniture and upholstery.
The master bedroom is adorned with another brightly colored accent, this one being the blast of purple located behind the bed. The modern geometric headboard is flanked with two funky blue light fixtures hanging from the ceiling, a style for bedside reading lights you don’t often see.
A second more youthful bedroom is blasted with bright red and yellow tones. Playful accents are located throughout the room, including miniature animal busts above the headboard and ruffly yellow wall art.
