Beautiful Brick and Wood Make This West Village Rental Beyond Cozy
If any “Sex and the City” fans out there have lingering dreams of renting a lovely apartment in a West Village brownstone, this two-bedroom unit is looking promising. (Only steps from Magnolia Bakery, the listing says!) It’s a fourth-floor walkup on the top-floor of the brownstone at 283 West 11th Street. Once inside, it isn’t hard to warm up to this apartment, with its fireplace, exposed brick, and overall charm. Plus, there’s a roof deck, which is shared by the building, right above you. It is now on the rental market for $5,600 a month—so sadly no, not a rent most freelance writers like Carrie could afford.
The historic brownstone details that have been restored in this apartment include crown moldings, the walnut wood floors, exposed brick and a decorative fireplace. This living and dining room space isn’t huge—with only enough room to fit a small table—but it feels downright cozy and comfortable. You can’t go wrong putting big leather chairs around a fireplace.
There’s more exposed brick, as well as big windows, in the master bedroom. Exposures to the south, west and north throughout the apartment ensure lots of light in each room.
The second bedroom looks better suited for an office or nursery. One thing we know: put a leather couch in there for the best results.
It isn’t common for brownstones to come with a proper roof deck, but this one’s got it. The one perk of that fourth-floor walkup is that this apartment has the easiest access to it. Lovely living space downstairs and nice rooftop views above, what’s not to like about that?
