Nolita Loft Interior Boasts Floor-to-Ceiling Book Shelves, Modern Art and Woodsy Charm
Nolita, named for its location just north of Little Italy, is packed with culture and entertainment one can only find downtown. Much like the neighborhood in which it resides, this hip loft packs some serious–and not-so-typical–design chops worthy of a little praise. From the design team at Desciencelab its interior features everything from frosted glass room dividers, to a wall of shelving adorned with perfectly sized art and floor-to-ceiling books.
The loft’s open living space includes both the living and dining rooms, and the high-ceilings allow for a massive amount of wall decor ranging from hardwood shelving, original art and small sculptures from around the globe. The room is also adorned with unique design pieces like a taxidermied baby fawn, furs and richly patterned textiles.
The open floor plans also allows immediate access to both the kitchen and dining room. The dining room table has a finished organic feeling, and the hardwood floors running throughout the space adds to the loft’s log cabin aesthetic.
A frosted glass wall divides the open living space and the home’s cozy more intimate rooms. Modern art pieces add intriguing contrast to the home’s otherwise rustic decor.
Smaller more intimate spaces are created with a combination of creative built-ins coupled with organic textures and material.
Even the loft’s bathroom is covered in hardwood shelving and storage, and is almost reminiscent of what you’d find in an upstate sauna or sweat lodge.
