Upper East Side Townhouse by Blair Harris Boasts Opulent Details and Regal Allure
Blair Harris Interior Design is relatively new to the New York design scene, but the work they’ve been churning out thus far is simply stunning. This beautifully decorated Upper East Side townhouse boasts an array of opulent textures, colors, and patterns, and the carefully curated furniture and light fixtures give the home a regal allure. The architectural details include floor-to-ceiling windows, ornate ceiling medallions, handsome molding, and decadent built-ins.
The color palette in the living room is a soft play between cool blue-purple tones and the various shades of warm brown that reflect the dark hardwood floors. The plantation shutters lining the massive windows that adorn the front of the house add to the room’s luminous quality.
A second less formal seating area is located at the adjacent end of the first floor. An attention-grabbing light fixture, reminiscent of a cactus or sea urchin, hangs above the center of the space. The fixture’s hard edges are balanced with the plush texture of the wide sofa and chaise, and dark built-ins and an accent chair compliment its menacing hue.
The same blue and purple tones and warm browns are repeated in the dining room. A large dark hardwood table is surrounded by plush purple dining chairs, and together they dominate the space. The light blue walls and ice-like glass chandeliers make the room feel lighter and more inviting.
The kitchen is luminescent and airy. The white cabinets and kitchen table reflect natural sunlight streaming through the windows, and light blue tiles decorate the kitchen walls.
The molding and ceilings are embellished with low-relief decorative designs and the floor features beautiful inlaid patterns.
The stairwell leading from the lower to the upper level spotlights a swank gold light fixture and rich banister.
Not only has the design team created beautiful a home for their clients, but they’ve woven an inviting narrative of color, texture and material into each room. To see more work from the talented folks at Blair Harris Design check out their website here.
