Tradition Is Redefined in This Lovely Downtown Loft by J and G Design
The gorgeous interior of this downtown loft was made possible by the budding design team from J and G Design. Recently named “Five Under 30” and “Next Big Names” by Lonny Magazine, this dynamic duo describes their aesthetic as traditional design but strive to make each project equal parts tailored and eclectic, glamorous and relaxed, and bold and subtle. And as we move from room to room inside this particular loft interior, we can see how their selection of textures, colors and patterns have allowed them to be successful in achieving their goals.
The living room is an array of soft textures and colors and features playful artwork and sophisticated design accents. Two large windows frame the beige sofa, and the living room’s ambient lighting is provided by a traditional table lamp and slender floor lamp.
When we take a closer look at some of the loft’s details we can see how their careful selection of accessories creates small vignettes throughout the home, each and every corner unique in character. For example, a vibrant antique mirror is placed on top of a vintage chest of drawers and is further adorned with an iron and glass jewelry box and a set of matching table lamps.
In the bedroom, soft blue and gold tones are the perfect complement to the washed out brick that adorns the far wall. Exposed wood beams line the ceiling while natural sunlight illuminates the white linens and light hardwood flooring. This loft might be located downtown, but thanks to J and G Design, the interior has a far more uptown feel.
