$5,100/Month Prospect Heights Townhouse Duplex Is So Brooklyn
There’s a certain type of interior style you see a lot in Brooklyn these days. It’s historic, with original wood floors and fireplaces and crown moldings. But there’s also something very modern to it, maybe in the lighting or the kitchen design or the furniture. This apartment, a duplex at 598 Bergen Street in Prospect Heights, covers all those bases. It’s got the perfect Brooklyn vibe throughout both floors of the townhouse rental–even the listing calls it the “classic Brooklyn townhouse.” It’s asking $5,100 a month.
The parlor floor of this rental is really lovely. It holds the living room, dining room, the open kitchen, and doors out to the private deck. The fireplace in the living room is wood-burning, and there’s another in the dining room that’s decorative. Huge windows on this floor look like they bring in lots of light.
The open kitchen has been totally modernized as part of a recent renovation. Appliances include a dishwasher, which is good news to every New Yorker. We also love the giant chalkboard wall that’s been painted in.
The upper floor of the duplex is where you’ll find two king-sized bedrooms, two bathrooms and a washer/dryer. (In total, there’s 1,500 square feet.) The master bedroom looks out onto the other brownstones of Prospect Heights–not too bad of a view.
The current tenants really nailed the second bedroom, designing one of the cutest kid bedrooms of all time. How awesome are those bunk beds and circus-tents over the windows? There’s also plenty of storage for kid stuff.
Finally there is the private patio and backyard. We love that the backyard is half paved and half grass — that means there’s space for a BBQ as well as some greenery. Upon leaving the townhouse, you’re surrounded by all sorts of Brooklyn-centric things, like the Barclays Center, Brooklyn’s favorite ice cream at Ample Hills, and Grand Army Plaza, the entrance to Prospect Park. Even the Park Slope Food Co-op is within walking distance!
