Soho’s Only Freestanding Home Sells for a Discounted $6.9M
Soho’s only freestanding home has found new owners. Bonnie and Seth Harris paid $6.887 million for the Broome Street townhouse, which initially popped up on the market a year ago, asking nearly $10 million. The two-bedroom home, listed by “Million Dollar Listing” star Ryan Serhant, has 3,430 square feet of living space with a 280-square-foot terrace and an additional 2,600 square feet of building rights.
The main level has a gated entry and a spacious layout. This level is decked out in exposed brick and wood, boasting beamed ceilings, a brick staircase, and antique chestnut hardwood floors. A large chef’s kitchen opens to the space and features a glass ceiling that filters in light. The kitchen features top-of-the-line appliances, an island, stone backsplash and counters, and an eat-in breakfast area.
The second level has a media room with surround sound, a wet bar, and a beamed ceiling. A wall of French doors open to the landscaped terrace, where the new owners can enjoy grilling with friends and getting their tan on. There is also a bedroom suite on this floor with three exposures.
The entire third floor is devoted to the master suite and its spa master bath. The bedroom has a gas fireplace, custom closets, a vaulted ceiling and a balcony. The en suite has a Jacuzzi soaking tub, steam shower, dual skylights and oversized windows in all four directions.
514 Broome Street was built in 1930 and updated in recent years. It has a fully furnished basement with a street-level entrance and a 2,500-bottle wine cellar. It’s also outfitted with modern conveniences like central air, a security system, and laundry. Best of all it’s in the heart of Soho, and just a stone’s throw away from the hottest night life, art galleries, dining, shopping, and entertainment.
