Combine Two Offbeat Williamsburg Apartments to Create the Ultimate Loft
Two apartments, units 408 and 309, are now available at the Mill Building, 85 North 3rd Street in Williamsburg, with the potential to create a massive loft apartment. When we first saw this listing, only one unit was up for grabs, but now a buyer will have two floors and 3,600 square feet to work with, as well as the potential to build out as many as five bedrooms alongside a media room and library. How much for the opportunity to create this mega loft? The asking price is $4.775 million.
There are lots of nice touches to the apartment spaces, including 100-year-old plank hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling wood columns, exposed brick, and 13-foot-tall ceilings. It’s unclear, however, if both available units come with these features, and how much work it will require to combine them. At least one of the units has a beautifully renovated kitchen, with plenty of cabinet space and fancy appliances.
A photo of one of the existing bedrooms is a little less impressive, with none of the wood columns and exposed brick shown in the common area.
The Mill Building is one of the best-known residential conversions in North Williamsburg. Since its warehouse days, the building has been outfitted with a full time doorman, roof terrace, free laundry, onsite garage, children’s play area, storage and bike room. It’s also located just a few blocks from the Bedford Avenue L.
