Jendretzki’s Spectacular Soho ‘Bubble Loft’ Available for Short-Term Rental at $40K/Month

When we wrote last year about the “out of this world” design of the 6,000-square-foot loft located at 145 Sixth Avenue in Soho, we had no idea the owners would decide to share their incredible home for a few months, offering the lucky renter a one-of-a-kind June-through-October experience in the city.
In addition to the sure-to-be-a-conversation-starter giant bubble structure housing two bedrooms in the southwest corner of the home, there are a myriad of design elements incorporated by the architectural firm Jendretzki that provide plenty to talk about.
As we previously learned from the architects, “This apartment was actually modeled after Spaceship 1 through its technology and methodology. Also known as Luminal Gallery, the loft is the first dedicated video-art gallery in New York City.”
The enormous 2,500-square-foot living room is surrounded by oversized windows and features wide-plank hardwood flooring and rough-hewn beams punctuating its soaring ceiling. One look at the tranquil and light-filled space and you’re magically transported somewhere far, far from the city. Invite all of your friends and then some because this home’s oasis of sitting areas (for both lounging and dining) is reminiscent of the lobby of a 5-star hotel, and we mean that in the very best sense.
The chalet-like feel of the living room is in stark contrast to the futuristic look of the double chef’s kitchen. With translucent, bright-blue cabinetry and pantry doors, stainless steel appliances, and black granite countertops, this modern piece of art is no slouch in the function department, boasting everything you need to serve all of those guests who will be clamoring for an invite during your stay.
An oversized master bedroom suite with its own large bathroom is equally luxurious and includes one of the many projection boxes scattered throughout the residence ready to air your favorite movies on gigantic pull-down screens.
Five additional bedrooms–including two in that fabulous bubble–ensure that both family and friends will have a place to stay as you enjoy a one-of-kind living experience. And, if you can somehow tear yourself away from this spectacular fully-furnished loft to escape the heat of Manhattan during the sultry summer weekends, the $40,000/month rental also includes weekend use of the owners’ “Mongolian yurt” in upstate New York.
