A housing lottery opened this week for 32 middle-income units in a new 10-story residential building in the Bronx. Located at 1073 Summit Avenue in Highbridge, the building is designed by Marin Architects and developed by Stagg Group. New Yorkers earning 120 percent of the area median income, or between $54,858 annually for a single person to $154,680 annually for a family of five, are eligible to apply for the units, priced at $1,600/month for studios, $1,700/month for one-bedrooms, and $1,900/month for two-bedrooms.
The building’s amenities include a code-protected fitness center, recreational area, and card-operated laundry room. The property has a 24-hour surveillance system and a live-in superintendent. Additional amenities include pet-friendly policies, parking for 71 vehicles, and air conditioning.
In addition to the 109 rentals, the building will also provide over 71,000 square feet of residential space and 5,780 square feet of community facility space, according to Yimby.
Located off the Major Deegan Expressway between West 165th Street and West 166th Street, the building sits closest to the 4, B, and D trains, accessible at the 167th Street subway station. Baseball fans will appreciate the close proximity to Yankee Stadium, about a half-mile from 1073 Summit Avenue.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable units until April 14, 2022. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
