After a Major Makeover, Gorgeous Clinton Hill Townhouse Lists for $3.35M
About a month ago we reported on the renovation of a Clinton Hill townhouse underway. Now it looks like the home has gotten its final wash of paint and the owners have put their pad on the market for cool $3.35 million. This fancy flip returns after having undergone quite a bit of work—and it’s been bumped up from its $1.555 million closing price last winter (it was originally listed at $1.295 million). New bells and whistles include energy efficient boilers, two refurbished wood burning fireplaces, and a custom neo-angle chefs kitchen.
The original details in and around the home remain intact and include the “wedding cake” crown molding, paneled doors, casings, window shutters, and doorknobs. The bathrooms and kitchens got full revamps, the original quarter-sawn oak parquet and subfloors were painstakingly restored, and even the facade was fixed up.
The yard, which previously wan’t much more than a lot with shrubs and weeds, is now a beautifully landscaped retreat with a terrace. Though not noted in the listing, the owners renovated the townhouse as a triplex with garden access and a high-income garden rental unit.
102 Gates’ last open house pulled in nearly 400 interested buyers (including a 6sqft writer on a home hunt) willing to wait in the bitter cold just to get a peek inside. But will the new spic ‘n span edition draw as much interest as the fixer-upper? Sources say the home has already piqued the interest of a celebrity buyer who threw down a $3+ million offer. But lucky for you, the offer was rejected.
