Bizarre $1.8 Million Soho Loft Has Giant Wood Shed
Looking at so many beautiful homes can get to be exhausting (not really) so we decided to change things up and show you a new kind of luxury. We’re not quite sure what we want to call it yet, but we’re thinking something like woodsman chic or garage chic. Either way, we’re thinking if the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were real, they would gladly shell out the $1.8 million asking price for this unit at 49 Howard Street.
Step into this… uh… unique apartment through double shed doors that remind you of every scary movie you’ve ever seen, and find the home’s first sitting room—or eight-seater movie theater if you prefer. The current owners clearly prefer a movie that provokes thought and discussion as the space is outfitted with two La-Z-Boys positioned for engaging with your guests after they’ve spent enough time studying what appears to be a graffiti mural. After the discussion just simply pull a level and it’s nap time. Anything goes in this 1,800-square-foot hamster cage.
Step into the beautifully renovated kitchen with a bar that can easily fit three… four… five pizzas! Fire up a grilled cheese sandwich and eat it while rocking in your brand new rocking chair while shooting the breeze with your buddy as he surfs the net. Meanwhile a gorgeous new LG refrigerator awaits for you to store as much beer as your heart desires.
The luxurious bathroom is an interesting change of pace. It looks like the toilet might be one of those contraptions that closes the lid automatically so your girlfriend can thank the current owners for that. In fact, the entire Minotti Cucine bath appears to recognize a girl’s need for some respite with a beautiful soaking tub and a few strategically placed branches sprouting from the floor.
Actually, this loft is a live/work space for artists and that beaver dam is supposedly hiding some pretty nice closet space—even if it does look like Dexter’s kill room after the series finale. Add to that a sleek tin roof and some full city views and it gives the home a little more perspective. Wait, is that a chair on top of that wood shed?
This one’s such a rare one, we have to know what it makes you think of. Check out the pics in our gallery, then sound off in the comments below.
