This Sunday, the biggest event celebrating Bastille Day outside France hits Madison Avenue. To reflect the world’s excitement for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the event, which is expected to draw over 25,000 visitors, will bring an Olympics theme to L’Alliance New York’s annual cultural bonanza of French culture, entertainment, fashion, food, and more.

L’Alliance New York’s (formerly FIAF) Bastille Day festivities hit New York City this Sunday, July 14th on Madison Avenue from 59th to 63rd Street.

A notable participant will be the Inside Out photo booth, “Faces of the French-Speaking World (Les visages de la Francophonie),” from photographer JR, where New Yorkers will be able to have their photos taken as part of a Madison Avenue poster display.

Additional highlights include a champagne tasting, a Citroen car show, soccer games, pétanque courts, as well as face painting and other kids’ activities.

Of course, no French fȇte would be complete without food. Enticing bites of French food culture will be on hand courtesy of local favorites like Angelina Paris, Café d’Avignon, Paul Crée, Mille-Feuille Bakery, Crêpe Suzette de France, Home Frite, and Julien Boulangerie. Like the Olympics, Sunday’s event will take place rain or shine; a schedule of events can be found here.

Another free Bastille Day takes place in Central Park on Sunday. Hosted by the Consulate General of France in New York in partnership with Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage and the Comité des Associations françaises et de langue française de New York (CAFUSA), a French music festival is scheduled for July 14, from 5 p.m. to 10.m. at Rumsey Playfield. The line-up includes performers IAM, Magic System, The Avener, Laurie Darmon, and Femi the Scorpion.
