Tribeca’s tricked-out ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ townhouse returns for $10M

The Tribeca townhouse-condo that’s come to be known as the “Wolf of Wall Street apartment” is back on the market for $10 million. It’s owned by race car-driving ex-banker Alan Wilzig, who inspired the character in the movie who introduces Leonardo DiCaprio’s character to his future wife. Wilzig bought the three-bedroom maisonette for $3.35 million in the mid-2000s. Located at 7 Hubert Street, the home is its own townhouse, complete with a backyard patio and jacuzzi, street-level garage, and 2,200-square-foot private roof deck. Other tricked-out features include a home gym, movie theater, sauna, massive closets, and access to the condo building’s amenities.
Because of Wilzig’s semi-pro race-car driver status, the home has a super-serious garage, complete with simulation machines, a helmet and trophy display case, and neon accents. As 6sqft previously reported, “Wilzig didn’t like how he was portrayed in ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ and took to Facebook to criticize director Martin Scorsese for leaving out the fact that he drove a red Ferrari Testarossa.”
Inside, the living spaces are all big, bright, and open. The mod black-and-white color scheme carries through to the floors and the super-sleek kitchen, which also has a door that accesses the garage. The sunken living room has a fireplace and custom built-in shelving, as well as triple French doors that open to the patio.
The 800-square-foot garden comes complete with a grill and a hot tub.
Upstairs, both secondary bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. There’s also a small laundry room in the hall.
The primary bedroom suite overlooks the garden and has a Juliet balcony, customized dressing room, and large bathroom. Fun fact–there was previously a safe room attached to this bedroom, but we’re not sure if it still exists.
The private roof deck, as mentioned, is 2,200 square feet.
Finally, the lower level consists of a den, gym, office, spa/sauna, storage, two powder rooms, and a home theater. In total, the interior space spans 6,554 square feet.
When Wilzig first listed the home in 2014, he was asking nearly $44 million. It’s been dropping ever since, even going into contract for $12.65 million in 2019 (but falling through).
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Alan Wilzig sold the home in 2019, but that deal never closed. He is still the owner.
