Embrace Italian street food culture at Eataly starting this weekend

Get a taste of classic Italian street food starting this weekend at Eataly’s beloved food series. Running from September 20 through October 6, “Icons of Eataly” immerses guests in Italian street food culture, featuring more than 30 new menu items that can be found at Eataly’s New York City restaurants and quick-service counters. To kick off the celebration, Eataly Downtown is hosting an all-you-can-eat event on Friday, offering patrons unlimited tastings of Italian bites and refreshing beverages.
In Italy, the rich tradition of “cibo da strada,” or street food, spans the entire peninsula, featuring a diverse array of dishes that embody each of its 20 unique regions.
To honor this tradition, Eataly is introducing its most extensive menu update yet, featuring 30 new menu items across all its North American restaurants and quick-service counters.
Guests can learn about lesser-known dishes like cuzzetiello napoletano, a recipe from Naples featuring a hollowed-out roll of bread stuffed with condiments, along with Eataly’s twist on Italian street food classics like arancini, zeppole, and bombolone.
Highlights include:
- Arancino con Nduja: crispy scotti rice, spicy salame and nduja, grana Padano DOP.
- Octopus Arancino: crispy scotti rice, octopus ragu, lemon wedge.
- Suppli: crispy scotti rice, available in pomodoro e mozzarella and cacio e pepe varieties.
- Mozzarelline Fritte: breaded and fried mozzarella, spicy arrabbiata sauce.
- Zeppole Fritte Pomodoro e Acciuga: tomato and anchovy fritters.
- Chips di Panelle: chickpea fritters, lemon aioli.
- Panino con Il Polpo: ciabatta bread, fried octopus, sauteed broccolini, spicy calabrian aioli, microgreens.
- Polenta Fritta e Baccala’: fried polenta, baccala’ mousse.
- Pizza Fritta: fried pizza dough, available in classica, mortadella, and napoletana varieties.
- Cuzzetiello Napoletano: by Rossopomodoro, available in ragu, parmigiana, and broccoli rabe e salsiccia varieties.
- Panzerotti: fried pizza dough, available in prosciutto e mozzarella, pomodoro e mozzarella, and funghi e mozzarella.
- Bombolone con Gelato: fried pastry filled with a scoop of gelato.
- Sfogliatelle: mini pastries stuffed with cream and chocolate spread – 2 per order.
Friday’s all-you-can-eat event will run from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., featuring unlimited tastes of Italian food and drink, a live DJ and dance floor, a 360-degree photo booth, hands-on activities throughout the store, and more. The celebration is 21+ only.
