At 1,010 feet, 35 Hudson Yards is the tallest tower in the west side mega-development and the fifth-tallest residential building in all of New York City. And its penthouse is also a record-setter, offering the highest private terrace in the whole city. As was first reported by the NY Post, the five-bedroom home on the building’s 90th floor has just hit the market for $59 million. The terrace sits 920 feet above street level.
To put the terrace’s height into perspective, Rockefeller Center’s Top of the Rock is only 850 feet high, as the Post notes. Likewise, neighboring tower 15 Hudson Yards offers residents an amenity space at 900 feet that’s considered the city’s highest outdoor residential space. A source familiar with the unit told the Post, “A cool factoid is that you can see the Atlantic Ocean and Central Park from the terrace, which faces east and south.”
In addition to the soaring terrace, which measures 454 square feet, the interior space that spans the entire 90th-floor measures 10,171 square feet. It has five bedrooms (all with en-suite bathrooms), six-and-a-half bathrooms, a laundry room, great room, family room, sitting room, and home gym.
35 Hudson Yards was designed by David Childs of Skidmore Owings & Merrill and opened in 2019. It’s notable for being home to the city’s first Equinox Hotel and a swanky Equinox Fitness Club (the largest ever built) that includes an outdoor pool deck overlooking the Vessel. The fitness club also offers a spa, indoor saltwater pool, plunge pools, and co-working space. Amenities available exclusively to residents include complimentary Equinox memberships, a private gym, meditation room, priority reservations at the building’s restaurants, golf simulator, screening room, children’s playroom, and the 24th-floor Grand Terrace and Grand Dining Room which seats more than fifty guests.
