Actress Candice Bergen is selling her six-bedroom East Hamptons estate for $18 million. The impressive 4,500-square-foot cottage-style home is located at 72 Lily Pond Lane, just a block from the beach. As first reported by the New York Post, the cedar-shingled home was reimagined in 2004 by late architect Jacque Robertson. The year-round oasis features a stunning wraparound porch, in-ground pool, flower gardens, and a separate guest house.
While the home was restored to make the space more open, its old-fashioned character was preserved. From its vaulted ceilings and bay windows to the various built-ins, there’s an abundance of unique architectural elements. Plus, there’s a distinct oculus on the front of the home.
The home has a number of living and dining areas, all of them drenched in sunlight thanks to the many oversized windows. The classic chef’s kitchen is equipped with a huge center island and a commercial-grade Wolf range with a first-class stainless steel backsplash.
In total, the home features six bedrooms and six and a half baths. Vaulted ceilings, a sitting area, and interesting tartan carpets can all be found in the master bedroom.
Sitting on about 2 acres of land, the home’s exterior space is a lush retreat. The well-landscaped yard boasts lots of plantings, flowers, and an-ground heated pool with fountains. And like the main residence, the private guest house features similar charming design elements, like vaulted ceilings and custom woodwork.
