The TWA Hotel’s rooftop is now a retro Alpine-themed retreat with a heated ‘pool-cuzzi’

Looking to safely hang with friends outdoors without freezing your bum off? Then you might consider heading out to the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport. For the second year, the hotel is sharing its Eero Saarinen-designed mid-century fabulousness with its guests by transforming its rooftop bar into the Runway Chalet for the rest of the winter season. In addition to a tented and heated Alpine-themed restaurant and bar, the chalet offers the “pool-cuzzi,” which is heated up to 95 degrees.
Decked out in Scandi chalet decor and retro ski gear, the space is ready for snowsuits and bathing suits alike. And the tented and heated 1960s ski lodge-themed hideaway, operated by Gerber Group (which also runs the hotel’s Pool Bar, Sunken Lounge, and Connie cocktail bar) is serving food and drinks along with the cozy atmosphere that includes a vintage fireplace.
The heated infinity pool overlooks the busy runway 4L/22R, so you can relax while watching planes take off and land.
The Runway Chalet at The Pool Bar is open from 4 PM to 10 PM daily and the pool itself from 7 AM to 10 PM, both to hotel guests only, however, this includes overnight guests and those who have just reserved for the day.
