When “Real Housewives of New York” star (Countess) Luann de Lesseps bought this mid-century-modern home upstate in 2018, she said she was drawn to it when she learned that round houses are good Feng Shui. But as the Post first reported, the Countess has just listed the three-bedroom home for $1,150,000 since she’s been spending most of her time in the Hamptons instead. Located in the Ulster County town of Port Ewen, the three-bedroom home sits on nearly a full acre right on the Hudson River. It has 200 feet of private river frontage, a private dock, and mooring for a boat.
The listing says the views from the deck stretch “seventeen miles in each direction and across to the banks of Rhinebeck.” Outside of the home itself, it’s just a few minutes away from Kingston, a historic waterfront town known for its cute shops and restaurants and arts scene. Woodstock and Rhinebeck are also close by.
As the listing continues to explain, “The circular, modern architecture has an open floor plan which takes advantage of the panoramic Hudson River views.” Throughout are radiant slate floors, and in the living room, there’s a sleek built-in fireplace.
The open kitchen has lots of cabinet space and a center island that holds the oven and stovetop.
The master bedroom is off the living room and has glass walls to take advantage of the views, as well as an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a private entrance, perfect for guests. Downstairs, a large bonus room can be used as a guest suite, entertainment room, or studio.
The Post notes that Luann bought the home before she began her cabaret show in the city, so she wasn’t able to enjoy the Catskills as much as she originally thought. “I fell in love with the area, the privacy, the lakes, and the hiking trails. The house is really so beautiful, perched on the Hudson, and you can see all the ships passing,” she told the Post.
