A housing lottery opened this week for 45 mixed-income units at a new residential development in Brooklyn. Located at 875 4th Avenue in Greenwood, the luxury rental rises eight stories and has 150 apartments. New Yorkers earning 80 and 130 percent of the area median income, or between $53,863 for a single person and $187,330 for a household of five people, can apply for the apartments, priced from $1,473/month studios to $2,975/month two bedrooms.
Developed by Heritage Equity Partners and designed by Fischer + Makooi Architects, 875 4th Avenue replaces a former gas station. Located just a block from the 478-acre Green-Wood Cemetery, the rental has 150 apartments and offers amenities like a bike room, fitness center with a yoga studio, outdoor patio, rooftop, workspace, conference room, lounge, and parking. The building also has a pet-friendly policy.
Units include washer and dryer units, high-end countertops and finishes, state-of-the-art kitchen appliances, and air conditioning, according to Yimby.
The nearest public transit options include the D, W, N, Q, and R subway lines at the 36th Street station, and the F and G lines at the 15th Street-Prospect Park station. The B35, B37, B63, and B70 buses are located nearby as well.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable units until February 20, 2023. Preference for 50 percent of the units will be given to residents of Brooklyn Community District 7. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
