Roy Lichtenstein’s former Nomad loft hits the market for $4.5M
The former Nomad loft of late pop-art artist Roy Lichtenstein is for sale, asking $4.5 million. Lichtenstein, who was a native of New York City, lived at the four-bedroom home at 105 East 29th Street from 1984 to 1988. Located on the eighth floor, the sprawling space measures 3,200 square feet and features four exposures from 19 windows. As 6sqft reported last year, Lichtenstein’s son Mitchell listed a home in the Greenwich Village Historic District for $25 million; today it’s back on the market for just under $20 million.
From the keyed elevator, an entry gallery with decorative columns and custom millwork welcomes residents. The room measures 14 feet by 17 feet and boasts super tall ceilings. The great room, which spans 36 feet wide, features six south-facing windows and one large east-facing window.
The sunlight follows into the home’s dining room, which features two more oversized windows. The kitchen features Spanish tiles, new appliances, and enough space to dine-in.
The master bedroom takes up the corner space, boasting views of the Empire State Building. This room includes a windowed dressing room and double walk-in closets. An elegant claw-foot tub can be found in the master bath.
Two additional bedrooms are located on this level, with the fourth currently used as an office. The loft features a side-by-side washer/dryer, storage, and a powder room.
