Adam Neumann has relisted his Gramercy Park penthouse for $32 million, $5.5 million cheaper than when it last hit the market in 2020. In 2017, the founder and former chief executive of WeWork and his wife Rebekah Paltrow Neumann paid $27.5 million for the duplex penthouse at 78 Irving Place and the unit below it; the couple also picked up two additional apartments on the ground floor for $7.2 million.
As first reported by The Real Deal, Neumann looked to offload the 7,880-square-foot combination penthouse starting in late 2019 following the fallout from a failed initial public offering and his eventual resignation from WeWork.
In 2021, Neumann sold another New York City property: a Greek Revival-style townhouse at 41 West 11th Street. The 1847 Greenwich Village home sold for $13.65 million.
The triplex Gramercy apartment underwent a renovation by Pietro Cicognani of Cicognani Kalla, with interiors by Windsor Smith. Taking up the top three floors of the building, the home includes six bedrooms and six bathrooms.
A spiral staircase leads to every floor, where you’ll find picture moldings, crystal chandeliers, pale gray herringbone flooring, and metallic accents throughout, as 6sqft previously reported.
According to the listing, the penthouse also has a 955-square-foot roof terrace.
Neumann is not done with real estate. This year, he will launch Flow, a company that will operate properties he bought and offer services to new developments, as the New York Times reported.
