It’s rare to see a habitable—much less chic and renovated—apartment in most of Williamsburg for anything even close to the $360,000 this cozy co-op is going for. There’s a reason, of course; this “junior-one” at 648 Grand Street is an HDFC co-op, though the income cap isn’t mentioned in the listing yet. For a qualified buyer the bright, cozy space offers a home that’s easy on the eyes as well as the wallet.

A well-executed renovation uses the apartment’s high ceilings and exposed brick, adding sleek, efficient stainless steel appliances, Quartzite countertops and a washer/dryer. Also on the cool stuff list are a large closet, mid-century-inspired custom shelving and exotic acacia hardwood floors.

There’s a sleeping nook that could become a tiny separate room, and there’s plenty of sunlight. No floor plan accompanies the listing, but we’re guessing that’s not a king-sized bed.

The bath is a winner, with clean-edged subway tile and a glass-doored shower. Not a win for bath lovers, though, as there’s no bathtub.

Monthly maintenance is a low $440 that includes heat, hot water and taxes, and pets are allowed with board approval. As is the case in many an HDFC unit and many co-ops in general, there’s a flip tax–a fairly steep 30 percent gets shaved off any profit when selling, meant to discourage those looking for an investment more than a home.

Bonus: The apartment is located above a locksmith’s shop, so if you lose your keys, you’re in luck.
