Boasting more than 6,500 square feet of interior space, a decked-out terrace, and iconic skyline and water views, this penthouse at Waterline Square is just as lavish as expected. Since it’s the last such unit available at the mixed-use development, we’re taking a closer look at the residence, which is currently on the market for $27,000,000. Sitting atop Richard Meier’s One Waterline Square, the home has five bedrooms, 50 feet of direct Hudson River views, and an outdoor terrace that feels open, yet secluded at the same time.

Situated on the 37th floor, Penthouse A has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a powder room. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow for water and sunset views from most rooms. From the full-floor residence, panoramas stretch from the Statue of Liberty to the George Washington Bridge.

Jane Saidenberg, the CEO of Waverly Staging + Design, the firm that staged the penthouse, said pale colors and bleached woods were used to complement the great room’s abundance of natural light. Saidenberg also added a white sectional and a custom white rug to make the space feel more inviting.

The kitchen, equipped with Gaggenau appliances and Pedini cabinetry, and the family room, offer additional space for gathering and entertaining.

The bedrooms can be found on the north-facing side of the home, with the corner primary suite looking overlooking both the city and the river. The main bedroom features two marble-clad baths, a walk-in closet, a large dressing room, and a dedicated service entrance.

The private terrace measures just over 980 square feet and features a cozy outdoor fireplace and a built-in kitchen. Saidenberg’s favorite space in the penthouse is the terrace, which has a glass wall that protects from the elements without sacrificing the incredible views. “Turn on the TV and light a fire in the fireplace and it’s as if you now also have a country house alongside your city house,” Saidenberg said.

On five acres between West 59th and West 61st Streets, Waterline Square was developed by GID Development Group and includes three towers designed by well-known architects. One Waterline Square was designed by Richard Meier, Two Waterline Square by Kohn Pedersen Fox, and Three Waterline Square by Rafael Viñoly.

Residents have access to the Waterline Club, a Rockwell Group-designed amenity package that includes a fitness center, 25-meter saltwater pool, spa, indoor tennis and basketball courts, a half-pipe skate park, a soccer field, a 30-foot rock-climbing wall, bowling alley, and more. In 2020, Waterline Square Park opened, which offers nearly three acres of open green space, along with a huge playground and unique water features.

Waterline Square is more than 95 percent sold.
