Carmelo and LaLa Anthony Check Out a $15M Chelsea Penthouse

Things must be looking up for Knicks hoopster Carmelo Anthony and his wife LaLa, because they were reportedly seen checking out a $15 million duplex penthouse at the Chelsea Enclave, 177 Ninth Avenue. The sometimes-troubled couple was last seen touring a $29,000 a month rental at 1212 Fifth Avenue, but it seems now they'd prefer to buy. Located on the transparent top two floors of the Chelsea Enclave, their latest real estate contender has four bedrooms, 3,452 square feet of indoor space, and 2,640 square feet of outdoor space spread across two terraces.

J.Lo Buys $22M NoMad Penthouse with Celeb Neighbors

Though she was recently spotted eying a $14 million Tribeca loft, it's rumored that J.Lo has inked a deal on a $22 million duplex penthouse in NoMad's Whitman Building at 21 East 26th Street. She may have decided to up her budget thanks to a two-year, $26.3 million residency deal in Las Vegas. Or perhaps it was the Whitman's A-list roster of residents that swayed her; her neighbors will include Chelsea Clinton and NASCAR's Jeff Gordon. Lopez's new digs feature four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 3,000-square-feet of outdoor space spread over four terraces with views of Madison Square Park.

Bed-Stuy: From Harlem and Hip-Hop to Hipsters, Hassids and High Rents

Brooklyn is changing fast and at the forefront of this is Bedford-Stuyvesant—or as it's more commonly known, Bed-Stuy. Like most New York neighborhoods, Bed-Stuy has had its ups and downs, its most notable down being the 80s and 90s when crime and drugs were at a record high. But as hard as the times may have gotten, the neighborhood has maintained itself as one of the city's most culturally significant. Bed-Stuy has long been home to one of the largest concentrations of African-Americans in New York, it boasts beautiful well-preserved architecture spanning countless styles and centuries, and of course, there is the neighborhood's central role in the hip-hop movement.

Billy Joel Unloads Another Apartment at 128 Central Park South

Piano man Billy Joel has just sold off his one-bedroom pad at 128 Central Park South for $775,000, according to public records. The sale is the second for Joel at the building, the first being an $11 million deal he struck last year for the two-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot penthouse he once shared with ex-wife Christie Brinkley. The one-bedroom is a comparably modest pad situated on a high floor of the building. An eat-in kitchen, abundant south light and city views are some of the perks, but the listing (now offline) noted that the home needed renovation. The apartment was previously rented out, though Joel and Brinkley did entertain it as a penthouse extension. The transaction was managed by Joel's accountants Gelfand, Rennert and Feldman. Adam Modlin of the Modlin Group brokered the deal.

In November 2013 Girls star Zosia Mamet (you may know her as Shosanna) and her boyfriend, actor Evan Jonigkeit, purchased a multi-family house at 896 Flushing Avenue in Bushwick (of course she wanted to live in the world's seventh coolest neighborhood) for a little over $1 million. The couple had planned to convert the entire 2,500-square-foot home as one single-family dwelling, but less than a year after moving in it's back on the market, now asking $1.6 million.

The unit has an impressive celebrity past; Stipe bought it from Ben Affleck's younger brother Casey, who bought it from “Good Will Hunting” director Gus Van Sant. And recently actress Kirsten Dunst put her penthouse in the building on the rental market for $12,500 a month. The three-bedroom penthouse has a light-filled central atrium, 2,500-square-foot terrace with Hudson River views, and an industrial-style kitchen designed by Mario Batali. Stipe had said that he was looking to move further downtown to a loft/work space for himself and his partner.

Isabella Rossellini’s Daughter Buys Eerie $2M Fort Greene Townhouse

Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, daughter of famed Italian actress and model Isabella Rossellini, has just picked up a $2.2 million Fort Greene townhouse, according to city records. And the beautifully historic, yet slightly disheveled home at 23 South Elliott Place would make the perfect backdrop for a fashionably eerie photo shoot (or some really good Instagrams). Built in 1870, and part of the Fort Greene Historic District, the five-bedroom home is currently configured as a two-family residence, but we're guessing Ms. Rossellini isn't going to be looking for roommates and will likely convert it back to a single-family dwelling.

Robert De Niro Moves into $125K-Per-Month Rental at 15 Central Park West

Robert De Niro's new home may not be in his beloved Tribeca, but the full-floor pad at 15 Central Park West is one of the city's most expensive rentals. Unit 35AB is two separate condos combined into one on the 35th floor. The 6,000-square-foot, five-bedroom apartment is owned by steel magnate Leroy Schecter, who purchased the property in 2008 for $18.9 million. He originally put the condo on the market in 2012 for $95 million, then reduced it to $85 million in April 2013, and once again to $70 million in November. De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower were displaced in 2012 when a fire ripped through their triplex at the Brentmore, 88 Central Park West. The couple has been renting in the West Village, but it looks like they wanted to return to the Upper West Side while renovations are completed on their permanent home. And they're in good company; Alex Rodriguez and investor Henry Silverman have rented the same unit in the past.

Kirsten Dunst Lists Soho Penthouse for $12,500 a Month

With her Spider Man days behind her, Kirsten Dunst has put her Soho penthouse on the rental market for $12,500 a month, according to NYDN. She bought the two-bedroom apartment at 533 Canal Street for $3.09 million in 2007, citing that she needed a break from Los Angeles. Maybe she's looking for a little more privacy now, as fellow celebs including Casey Affleck and director Gus Van Sant have also called the building home. The slightly quirky pad is available fully or partially furnished, which is a bonus since Dunst clearly has a good eye for comfortable furniture, vintage pieces, and industrial-chic decor.

Rent Former Brooklyn Nets Coach Jason Kidd’s Amenity-Packed Apartment for $20K a Month

Live like a former Nets coach—at least while Jason Kidd is in Milwaukee coaching the Bucks. Kidd's departure comes after some dicey events involving politicking and power grabbing after just a year on the job. But rather than dumping his Aldyn pad completely in spite, Kidd has decided to rent it out for $20,000 a month. With some serious off the hook amenities, it's no wonder why this recognized NBA All-Star purchased the Upper West Side apartment in the first place.
