Karlie Kloss sells her West Village home for $2.4M

After listing her townhouse co-op in the West Village for $2.75 million last September, supermodel and philanthropist Karlie Kloss has found a buyer at the slightly reduced price of $2,382,609, reported CityRealty. The three-bedroom triplex at 151 Charles Street is chic and contemporary and has both a front garden and a second-floor terrace. Kloss bought it in 2012 for $1,975,000. She and husband Josh Kushner sold their Nolita apartment for $6.6 million last August.

The "cursed" Upper East Side mansion of late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has hit the market for $88 million. Located at 9 East 71st Street on one of the city's wealthiest blocks, the townhouse is considered the largest single-family home in New York City, rising seven stories and measuring more than 28,000 square feet. Epstein was charged federally last year for abusing dozens of underage girls and women at many of his properties, including his Manhattan mansion.

CNN president Jeff Zucker finds a buyer for his glitzy $17.5M Upper East Side home

After purchasing his Upper East Side co-op for $12.3 million in 2007, CNN chief executive Jeff Zucker first put the five-bedroom apartment on the market in February for $17.5 million. Now, the Wall Street Journal reports that Zucker and his wife Caryn have found a buyer for the large, glitzy pad, though the buyer's identity and final sale price have not yet been made public. Located at The Verona at 32 East 64th Street, the home is full of elegant touches like Venetian plaster walls, three working fireplaces, and a private elevator landing.

Susan Sarandon lists massive Chelsea duplex for $7.9M

The dramatic Chelsea duplex owned by actress Susan Sarandon for nearly 30 years has hit the market for $7.9 million. Located at 147 West 15th Street within the luxury co-op building La Fabrique, the massive 6,000-square-foot apartment boasts a flexible layout with six bedrooms, four exposures, and a gallery foyer on the eighth floor. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the Academy Award winner, a native of Queens, said she plans to downsize to a smaller pad nearby and has no intention of leaving the city. "I’ve always been a New Yorker and I’ll continue to be a New Yorker," Sarandon said.

Sarah Jessica Parker asks Citi Bike to help save 100-year-old Greenwich Village restaurant

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, longtime Greenwich Village resident Sarah Jessica Parker posted a heartfelt note to Citi Bike, hoping they can help save one of her favorite local restaurants. Gene's Restaurant has been located on West 11th Street near 6th Avenue for 101 years. But because of a Citi Bike rack right outside their front doors, the Italian restaurant has been unable to set up outdoor dining and is struggling from the pandemic fallout. "I'm happy to help move the @citibike rack just a bit east to make room for some outdoor seating. Whatever it takes," wrote SJP, who is a Citi Bike rider herself.

18 bathrooms, 11 bedrooms, four-and-a-half acres of land, a private grotto, and tennis courts--this is just some of what you'll find at the Greenwich, Connecticut mansion of the late shoe designer and Nine West founder Vince Camuto. The home was recently listed for $26.5 million, but it'll now come to auction next month, selling online to the highest bidder with no reserve (who will also have the option to separately purchase all the furniture). Vince's wife, Louise Camuto, said in a statement, "I’ve been here for a long time, and we have loved living here. It’s a year-round house that you enjoy both in the summer and in the winter... It’s a perfect place to raise a family."

Marilyn Monroe may not have been very open at the time about her mental health struggles, but they've since been documented through diary entries and letters she'd written. As Vanity Fair noted, in the mid-1950s, Monroe saw a psychiatrist, Dr. Margaret Hohenberg, on the recommendation of her acting coach Lee Strasburg. Dr. Hohenberg, whom she visited up to five times a week, operated out of a first-floor office at 155 East 93rd Street. As a child, after both her parents had passed away, Eleanor Roosevelt left her family's New York City apartment to spend her summers at her grandparents' Hudson Valley estate known as Oak Terrace. She even returned back to the Germantown property after high school, spending half her time there until she married FDR in 1905. According to Brownstoner, the family estate was sold off in parcels in the 1930s, one of which is the brick gatehouse that marked the entrance. Built in 1872, this charming brick structure known as the Oaklawn Gatehouse has just hit the market for $960,000.

Amazon behemoth and richest person in the world Jeff Bezos has been making headlines in recent weeks for his $100 million donation to U.S. food banks. He's also become $24 billion richer since the coronavirus crisis sent Amazon's stocks surging. And it looks like he's taking a very small percentage of that fortune and expanding his real estate investment in NYC. The Post reports that Bezos just dropped $16 million on an apartment in the Flatiron condo 212 Fifth Avenue. Last June, he bought three units in the building totaling $80 million, making it the largest deal to ever close in New York south of 42nd Street. Now he can create a mega-mansion in the sky.

As the Real Deal first reported, the power couple paid $7.7 million for a three-bedroom at the landmarked Brewster Carriage House at 374 Broome Street, joining the $9 million pad bought by the duo in 2018. They seem to really like the building; Legend and Teigen also lived in a one-bedroom unit at the building until they sold it in 2016 for $4 million.

Located at 166 Amity Street, the four-story, five-bedroom brick home boasts beautiful interiors with preserved 1800s details like wooden ceiling beams, marble mantles, and classical moldings, as well as a disappearing heated pool and hot tub in the lovely backyard. The sale, which was first reported by the Post, has not hit public records yet, so the exact sales price is unknown.

Marc Jacobs' West Village townhouse had been on the market for almost a year when he relisted the property at 68 Bethune Street with a new agency and a price chop last week. The New York Post reports the property went into contract the very next day, proving that sometimes a price cut makes all the difference. The fashion designer first listed the four-story, nearly 4,800-square-foot home last April for $15.9 million after having purchased it for $10.5 million in 2009. The new listing hit the market at $12 million but the final sale price is still unknown.

Thurgood Marshall’s former Hamilton Heights co-op hits the market for $550K

Thurgood Marshall, the Supreme Court's first African-American justice, lived in Harlem as a young adult, even serving as a vestryman at St. Philip's Protestant Episcopal Church at 134th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard. His home was a bit farther north in Hamilton Heights, at 409 Edgecombe Avenue near 154th Street. Notably, the building was also home to prominent African American figures such as W. E. B. Du Bois, painter Aaron Douglas, civil rights activist Roy Wilkins, and artist Elizabeth Catlett. Justice Marshall's former co-op, a spacious two-bedroom, is now owned by actress Erica Ash, known for her work on MadTV and The Big Gay Sketch Show. She's just put it on the market for $550,000.
