In East Quogue, right across from the ocean, this set of beach cottages was built in 1920 and then completely renovated by the current owners in 2018. Today, the compact cottages have contemporary seaside interiors, patios that overlook both the ocean and Quantuck Bay, an outdoor shower, sandy sitting area, and a private walkway to the beach. Plus, the property recently received a permit for a pool in between the homes, which would create the ultimate getaway residence. The entire place is on the market for $5,750,000.

The cottages are sited upon 0.87 acres with 75 feet of ocean frontage and a 360-degree unobstructed bayfront backdrop. Local firm Coastal Management oversaw the recent renovation.

From the street, the bay-facing cottage comes first. Though we can’t see inside, it has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a sunset viewing deck, and an oceanside patio.

A central deck connects both cottages. Enter the oceanfront property through a bay-facing patio with enough room for a dining table.

From there, there’s a small study and dining room that opens to the galley kitchen, which has a crisp white subway tile backsplash, open shelving, and new appliances.

In the back, the living room faces the oceanfront patio. A bonus space is lofted above the kitchen.

This cottage has two bedrooms, one of which opens directly to the patio. There’s also a washer/dryer in both homes.

This cottage has a sandy yard, complete with a hammock and dunes for privacy. A walkway leads down to the beach. There’s also a shed for bicycles and beach gear, an outdoor shower, and, as mentioned, an approved permit for a built-in pool. This would make a great summer home for an extended family or group of friends.
