A loft in Williamsburg’s popular Mill Building at 85 North 3rd Street—just a few blocks from the waterfront—is now available to rent for $6,000 a month. The trendy abode has all the details loft lovers look for: soaring 15-foot ceilings, exposed brick, wood columns and beams, and large windows. The open layout is currently set up as a studio, but with over 1,000 square feet there’s plenty of space to play around with. The apartment can come fully furnished or vacant—the only permanent fixture is the Yamaha upright piano next to the kitchen, making this pad extra sweet for musicians.
The living area and a home office nook are on one end of the loft, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows which open out onto a balcony with seating for two.
The bed features a reclaimed headboard, and though we don’t know if it’s an original piece from the building’s industrial past, it certainly fits in with the vibe of the apartment.
The kitchen features white cabinets, marble countertops, and a white tile backsplash. There’s room for a large dining room table and top-of-the-line appliances for seamless cooking and entertaining. You’ll notice custom glass light fixtures throughout and subtle details that tie the open space together, like the red hue of the exposed pipes which matches the window frames.
Last but not least, the bathroom features a black marble accent wall, a deep soaking tub, and a glass-enclosed shower.
Originally built as a factory for the Hinds & Ketcham lithography company, the brick building was converted into 62 true loft apartments in 2009. It’s attended by a 24-hour doorman, has a bike room, a laundry room, and a live-in super.
