Fox News anchor Shepard Smith lists upscale Greenwich Village condo for $5M
Shepard Smith has been bestowed with the dubious title of “most likeable anchor on Fox News,” and the popular breaking news chief won even more points for defending competitor CNN against PEOTUS ranting. But he’s also looking to get some real estate points by selling his Greenwich Village apartment at 65 West 13th Street for $4.9 million (h/t Luxury Listings). Smith bought the 2,341-square-foot condo in 2004 for $1.875 million, briefly listing it for $4 mil in 2011.
While the apartment looks pretty much like an apartment any affable Fox News anchor would own, it’s certainly spacious and well-laid-out for both entertaining and private and work space. The two-bedroom-with-room-for-more “luxury loft” recently got a designer renovation, and it’s loaded with high-tech perks like an in-wall Crestron system that controls the lighting, automatic shades, climate control and sound system and a Bosch washer/dryer.
Enter the apartment through a 40-foot-long gallery that works well for displaying wall-mounted artwork or sculptures. A vast great room has tall ceilings and massive south-facing windows. In one corner is the high-end, cocktail-gathering-friendly kitchen complete with wine storage unit.
There’s also a formal dining room large enough to fit a spirited dinner debate with your Fox News colleagues.
The tranquil master bedroom offers two very large walk-in closets, a dressing area and a gorgeously appointed bath. Outside the master suite is a cozy lounge area, perfect for a home office. There’s also a second bedroom.
The full-service prewar condominium building known as The Greenwich offers a full-time doorman, a modern gym and playroom and an enviable roof deck with a gas grill and 360 degree city views.
