A designer cottage in the village of Sag Harbor is now available for $6,995,000. Built in 2017 by New York interior designer Steven Gambrel, the property at 52 Glover Street “echoes the charm and vernacular of a seafarer’s home,” according to the listing. Decked out in blue and gray tones, marble accents, and pine paneling, the Hamptons residence has a historic, nautical feel, all while keeping things modern.
Located on the same property as a larger main residence, Gambrel designed the home as a guest cottage, which he appropriately dubbed “Little Glover.” The charming residence features three bedrooms and three and a half baths.
According to 1stDibs, Gambrel worked with Atlanta and New York-based architecture firm Historical Concepts on the home’s design, which draws on details of historic homes “that he loves to sketch.” The website reports that Gambrel incorporated pine-paneling from an 18th-century house in Massachusetts.
Oversized windows bring in lots of natural light to all rooms, particularly the parlor, dining room, and den. In total, the home measures 3,000 square feet and features four fireplaces.
A heated outdoor pool surrounded by a lovely raised vegetable garden completes the home. The property overlooks Upper Sag Harbor Cove and is just minutes from the commercial center of the village.
