Rihanna Caught Eyeing this Full-Floor Apartment at One York in Tribeca

Surely ready to rest her bones after a whirlwind tour with Eminem, Rihanna was recently spotted scoping out the 10th floor at the Enrique Norten-designed One York in Tribeca. According to the Post, the pop star toured the luxurious $18 million listing along with her personal assistant and entourage. The 10th floor is currently made up of three units—which means a bit of work is required to adapt the space for the celeb—but when combined, the apartment will be a monstrous 5,350-square-foot floor-through home with four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms.

HS2 Architecture’s Wooster Street Loft: Elegant Furnishings plus Industrial Details Add up to Perfection

Sometimes when we’re presented with a blank page, we aren’t sure where to start. Thankfully, when HS2 Architecture set out to transform the entire top floor of a classic Soho building, they knew exactly what they wanted to achieve. When they looked at their blank slate they saw the “opportunity to create a large central sunlit hall with a sculptural steel and walnut stair connecting the living areas to a large private roof-top garden.” This is why we write about architecture and don’t practice it. But lucky for us that means we get to bring you the stunning end result of their vision.

Meg Ryan Snags Hank Azaria’s Spacious Soho Loft for $8M

End of summer celebrity moves abound, and this latest closing sees Meg Ryan scooping up a gorgeous Soho pad from Hank Azaria for $8 million. The full-floor, 4,000 square foot loft at celebrity (and misfit) favorite 84 Mercer Street has previously been featured in Elle Decor and boasts three spacious bedrooms, three bathrooms, a media room, a bright and airy 50-foot atrium hall, a key-lock elevator, and a private gym—amongst many other luxuries. Azaria himself gave up downtown living back in May when he moved his family into a more cozy and quiet $9.2 million Central Park West pad.

Soho Loft with Taxidermy Tendencies Sells for $4.7M

We were quite astounded when, earlier this summer, we came across a taxidermy-filled apartment on Central Park West (there's a first time for everything!). And now, in an even more surprising twist, we've stumbled upon another "stuffed animal" loving pad. Though not filled to the brims like our first find, this apartment at 465 West Broadway will still make you look twice. The three-bedroom unit has been picked up by jewelry designer and artist Lisa Pevaroff for $4.7 million. Likely selling points include 15 windows, four exposures, and an easily convertible floor plan.

Jonah Hill Puts Soho Loft on the Market for $3.8 Million, Looking to Make a $1 Million Profit

Looks like celebrities like flipping, too. Just two years after Jonah Hill bought his Soho loft at 27 Howard Street for $2.65 million, he's put it back on the market for over a million dollars more. Now listed at $3,795,00, this full-floor, 2,000-square-foot pad was originally a two-bedroom when Hill moved in, but it's currently configured as a massive one-bedroom space. And with an estimated net worth of $30 million, why not spread out and live the good life?

Performance Artist Marina Abramović Sells her Urban Glass House Apartment for $3 Million

You might have expected the apartment of Marina Abramović to be intense and dark with large, empty spaces for the world-renowned performance artist to create her highly experimental work, but instead her home is pleasant and light-filled with contemporary furnishings and pops of color. She's leaving the two-bedroom, corner unit at the Urban Glass House, though, as it's sold for $2.995 million, according to city records.

New York vs. London: A Real Estate Challenge on Both Sides of the Pond

While we're all still in the patriotic mood after the July 4th festivities, we thought it appropriate to put together a friendly little challenge between New York City and her cross-pond ally and sometimes rival, (what are the kids calling it these days, a frenemy?). In the left corner is NYC, global hub of finance and media, weighing in with a population of 8,405,837. And in the right corner we have London, the world's most-visited city, population 8,416,535. According to British real estate website Zoopla, the average price of a Central London home over the past year is £1.1 million or $2 million in U.S. dollars, topping the $1.6 million average selling price of residences in the core of Manhattan.

Bizarre $1.8 Million Soho Loft Has Giant Wood Shed

Looking at so many beautiful homes can get to be exhausting (not really) so we decided to change things up and show you a new kind of luxury. We’re not quite sure what we want to call it yet, but we’re thinking something like woodsman chic or garage chic. Either way, we’re thinking if the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were real, they would gladly shell out the $1.8 million asking price for this unit at 49 Howard Street.

Sprawling Outdoor Space Beautifully Complements This Wooster Street Penthouse’s Equally Roomy Interior

Let’s see…. charming cobblestone streets, Soho’s artistic vibe, Nolita’s incomparable bakeries and restaurants, or the nearly 2,400 square feet of outdoor space? Once the key-locked elevator opens into this full floor 4-bed, 3-bath, 2,600-square-foot trophy residence we have even more to add to our list of “favorites”.

SoHo’s Jendretzki Bubble Loft is Out of This World

When we say "out of this world," we don't just mean it's an amazing architectural feat — this apartment was actually modeled after Spaceship 1 through its technology and methodology. Also known as Luminal Gallery, the loft is the first dedicated video-art gallery in New York City. The 6,000-square-foot space was designed by architectural firm Jendretzki and features organic architecture meant to evoke the future, which is playfully juxtaposed against industrial loft details like cast-iron columns and exposed wood ceiling beams.

Soho Square Poised to Get Multimillion Dollar Makeover

Coming on the heels of a rezoning last spring that will yield much more residential and retail development in the area just north of Canal Street, the Hudson Square Connection Business Improvement District embarked on an ambitious $27 million campaign to create more open space and beautify the neighborhood’s streets. First up was a $200,000 investment at Freeman Plaza West a few months after the City Council approved the rezoning. The vacant property near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel was magically transformed into an unexpected but charming garden respite with the addition of umbrellas, tables, chairs and trees.

Vanessa Carlton Puts Soho Pad up for Rent; Asks $17,950/Month

Out with the old, and in with the new. A recently married Vanessa Carlton has put her two-bedroom Soho loft up for rent, and she’s asking a pretty penny for it, according to the NY Daily News. The 2,500-square-foot apartment, listed by Coldwell Banker Bellmarc’s Lisa Garey, has a vintage appeal that suits the “A Thousand Miles” singer/songwriter nicely. Carlton purchased the loft, located at 182 LaFayette Street, in 2004 for $1.83 million and renovated it to maintain its historic charm while featuring modern-day amenities.

$8M Full Floor Greene Street Loft Leaves Us Speechless

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and we’re inclined to agree. While we love using words to tell you all about some of the most amazing residences on the market, we’re not sure words can quite do this Soho beauty justice. Located in a landmarked building at 60 Greene Street, with its cobbled stones and quaint charm, this nearly 4,000-square-foot full floor condominium loft not only took our words away, it took our breath away too!

Thirteen windows wrapping around three sides of this 1,100 square foot loft means bright and airy in a big way – even the bedroom closet and bathroom are filled with sunlight! Overlooking two of the building’s three charming courtyards this gorgeous unit at 140 Sullivan Street has a wonderfully open floor plan with extra high ceilings exposing all of the original wood and steel beams, wide plank cherry floors throughout, and built-ins galore. Quirky Soho Loft With Honey-Comb Skylight Sells for $2.15 Million After 6 Months on the Market

After more than half a year on the market, the Broome Street co-op with an interesting honey-comb skylight has finally sold for $2.155 million. There’s no doubt 428 Broome Street #1R is an interesting unit, even for a building constructed in 1879. The Soho loft has all the tell-tale signs of an older reconstruction with exposed brick walls, 16’ ceilings and an open floor plan - one that features 1,765 square feet of open floor space. However, the cast iron Corinthian columns and the honey-comb skylight give the loft an almost medieval vibe. The result is an interesting contrast to Soho’s typical industrial architecture.

Art Collector Sells Massive SoHo Simplex for $4.5 Million to Reportedly Pesky Neighbors

It's New York. We live in close proximity and have all had those annoying neighbors — the man that moves his furniture around in the middle of the night, the college students that blast electronic music, and the couple with the dog that never stops howling. It's not every day, though, that you get neighbors operating a full-on filming studio out of their home, but that's exactly what Chelsea residents accused interior designer Betsy Morgan and her husband Jonathan Cary of, according to the New York Post. It was reported that Morgan was illegally advertising her $6 million West 21st Street townhouse on numerous websites for film locations and photography shoots at the rate of $850 per day, the ruckus from which did not make neighbors happy. The couple is now making headlines again by purchasing the city's largest available simplex at 84 Mercer Street. The $4.5 million, 9,000-square-foot loft is definitely camera worthy with its original wooden beams and columns, huge open layout, and remarkable potential for displaying art, but let's hope Ms. Morgan will not be bringing any outside cameras into her new pad.

Massive Soho Loft With Wraparound Terrace Sells for $14.5 Million

When you look at these New York buildings, it’s hard to imagine there’s space for a 7,000-square-foot loft inside. Well, the former home of Justin and Nicole Ehrlich is one of those spaces. 20 Greene Street #6A is definitely deserving of an Academy award with its dramatic tall ceilings and oversized windows. And it just sold to the tune of $14.5 million. This Soho loft, listed by Douglas Elliman, doesn’t do anything halfway. Its giant living room is large enough to be its own apartment, for starters.

Set Designer for Saturday Night Live Buys Artsy SoHo Loft

Leo Yoshimura, a set designer and art director for late night television shows like Saturday Night Live and the Late Show with Conan O'Brien, has purchased unit 5W at SoHo's 565 Broadway for $4.2 million through a listing held by Keller Williams.  This is a D2 class/artist in residence building, meaning it's a former industrial site that was converted to residential and now its apartments must be inhabited by a certified artist. The artistically designed loft seamlessly blends historic character with sleek modernism.  Original columns punctuate the 2,740-square-foot 3BR/3BA space, which retains its large windows and high ceilings.  The interior window cutouts let natural light traverse the entire unit, as does the contemporary frosted glass divider that leads into the boldly painted red den.
