Billy Joel is selling his 26-acre estate on Long Island's North Shore for $49,000,000. The "Piano Man" bought the first 14 acres of the sprawling property on Oyster Bay Harbor in 2002 for $22,500,000, and has since acquired more parcels of land, piecing together much of an original estate that was split up in the 1950s, as the Wall Street Journal reported.

A stunning mansion on 15 acres overlooking the Long Island Sound is on the market for $14.6 million. Located at 2 Wallis Lane in the North Shore village of Nissequogue, the estate, known as Somerset, boasts a seven-bedroom main brick manor residence and nearly 900 feet of water frontage. The 1930s era home has preserved lots of its charm, from its curvy staircase to the intricate moldings.

This over-the-top Mediterranean-style mansion on Long Island just sold for $9,225,000, making it the most expensive home sold this year in Nassau County, as well as the most expensive home sold in Sands Points since 2016 and the fourth-highest sale in the North Shore over the last five years. Sales records aside, the home's opulence speaks for itself. At a whopping 20,000 square feet, the waterfront estate has an indoor pool, movie theater (complete with a ticket booth and stage curtains!), a personal arcade (with skee ball and pinball machines), and tons of marble.

Stanford White-designed round house overlooking Stony Brook Harbor asks $1.5M

This estate in quaint St. James, NY--located in Suffolk County on the north shore of Long Island overlooking Stony Brook Harbor--is indeed, as the listing describes it, a piece of architectural history. Built in 1895 by famed and scandalous architect Stanford White of McKim, Mead and White (the firm who penned such icons as the Washington Square Arch and the former Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan), the rambling New England-style 16-bedroom estate spans 8,000 square feet and sits on 3.75 acres. Though it calls to mind a time long past, the home's historic charm is more literal than most; it will likely take substantial effort beyond its $1.5 million ask to make it the 21st-century residence it undoubtedly could be.
