Chinatown speakeasy Apotheke opens new Nomad location with rooftop terrace

Fourteen years after making its Chinatown debut, popular speakeasy-style cocktail bar Apotheke has opened a second New York City location. Located on West 26th Street in Nomad, the bar will serve its signature medicinal-themed beverages alongside its first-ever food menu, made up of small and shareable plates. Apotheke Nomad offers two separate spaces, a dimly-lit basement speakeasy and a rooftop terrace that will open later this summer.

East Village speakeasy PDT opens pop-up on 86th floor of the Empire State Building

One of New York City's favorite speakeasies has opened at one of the world's most famous buildings. PDT (Please Don't Tell)--the cocktail bar hidden behind a phone booth in the East Village hot dog joint Crif Dogs--is operating a pop-up on the 86th-floor of the Empire State Building this month. In addition to enjoying sweeping city views and stellar signature drinks, guests can chow down on hot dogs from Crif Dogs.

East Village Speakeasy Turned Condo Building Has a Duplex Up for Rent

Many, many years ago, the East Village building at 12 Avenue A was a speakeasy and dancehall. Today, it's a luxury condo with a very pricey unit up for rent—a four-bedroom duplex asking a hefty $24,500/month. The owner is looking for a short- or long-term renter to enjoy this lofty, open space. Its days as a dance hall are long gone, as the sleek interior is now decked out with modern artwork, a private roof deck and fancy finishes like Carrara marble and dark oak floors.
