The five boroughs serve as a temporary and permanent home to over 400 species of bird, thanks to both habitat diversity and location on the Atlantic Flyway, the route birds follow during migrations. From Pelham Bay Park in the northeast Bronx down to Great Kills Park on the South Shore of Staten Island, there is no shortage of birding activities in New York. A penthouse in Dumbo has sold for $17,500,000, becoming the neighborhood's priciest sale on record. The four-bedroom penthouse sits atop the new 33-story waterfront development Olympia Dumbo, which was recently crowned 6sqft's Building of the Year. At $4,102 per square foot, the deal also marks the most expensive condominium sponsor sale concerning price per square foot in Brooklyn.

$19.5M Dumbo penthouse is Brooklyn’s priciest listing

Asking $19.5 million, this just-listed penthouse at new condo tower Olympia Dumbo is currently Brooklyn's most expensive listing. If the five-bedroom condo at 30 Front Street fetches the asking price, it will be among the borough's most expensive sales ever. The record for Brooklyn's priciest property sale currently belongs to the Brooklyn Heights townhouse at 8 Montague Terrace which sold for $25.5 million last year, followed by a $20.3 million Quay Tower penthouse on the Brooklyn Heights waterfront. The new listing also brings the big-ticket crown to Dumbo.

Just listed for $15,995,000, this Chelsea townhouse at 328 West 23rd Street will have you drooling from the first look. For roughly 200 years, between 1626 and 1827, New York City was home to more enslaved Africans than almost every other city in the country. But after abolishing slavery nearly 40 years before the nation, the city became a major player of the national abolitionist movement, housing anti-slavery activists and organizations, as well as many stops on the Underground Railroad. Now 400 years after the first enslaved Africans arrived in the United States, the Landmarks Preservation Commission released this week an interactive story map highlighting designated city landmarks tied to the abolitionist movement.

New renderings show 72,600-square-foot public park coming to Brooklyn’s Pacific Park development

Developer TF Cornerstone this week released new renderings for two sites within Brooklyn's long-delayed Pacific Park development that have yet to break ground: 615 and 595 Dean Street. Their plans will bring 72,600 square feet of public open space with community amenities, 800 units of mixed-income housing, and retail to Pacific Park. In addition, Chelsea Piers is set to open a Field House that will offer a wide range of family and youth-focused programming when the site opens in 2023.
