TV news anchor Dan Abrams lists 1830s West Village townhouse triplex for $8.8M
ABC news anchor and media entrepreneur Dan Abrams is selling his 3,300-square-foot home in the Village. The three-story property at 150 Waverly Place is part of a seven-unit condo made up of two neighboring 1830s-era Greek Revival townhouses. According to the Wall Street Journal, Abrams, who is chief legal analyst for ABC News, host of A&E’s “Live PD” and the publisher of Mediaite and its sibling sites, first lived in the building in 2004 as a renter, then bought a three-bedroom duplex for $2.175 million. He purchased the adjacent duplex–which included a private garden—in 2009 for $1.645 million.
Occupying the building’s first three floors, the sprawling unit has two private entrances, giving it the feeling of a stand-alone townhouse–with condo amenities. Though Abrams has clearly vacated the premises, the home and 900-square-foot garden have had a complete renovation, and a well-designed virtual staging helps us imagine an actual human in residence.
The home has four wood-burning fireplaces, wide-plank white oak flooring and the high ceilings we’d expect to see in an historic townhouse. The parlor floor has two living and dining areas, a powder room and French doors that overlook a private balcony and landscaped garden.
On the home’s lower level is a well-stocked open chef’s kitchen adjacent a large family room with garden and patio access. The kitchen boasts indestructible quartz countertops and appliances by Viking and Fisher & Paykel. Also on this floor are a guest bedroom with an en-suite bath and a powder room.
The patio and garden don’t disappoint as anyone’s dream of a backyard oasis in the West Village.
On the home’s upper level is a luxurious master suite with garden views, a fireplace, lots of closet space and an en-suite bath. Also here are the home’s remaining bedrooms, another bath and a washer/dryer.
Abrams, who is reportedly a history buff,  said he’s selling the home to be closer to his son’s school and his offices further uptown.
