‘Wolf of Wall Street’ Apartment With a Tricked-Out Private Garage Asks $25M
This Tribeca property isn’t the kind that hits the market everyday. It belongs to Alan Wilzig, who was a character in “The Wolf of Wall Street,” introducing Leonardo DiCaprio‘s character to the woman who becomes his wife. Wilzig is an entrepreneur and semi-professional racecar driver, meaning that his three-story, 6,500-square-foot condo at 7 Hubert Street comes with a very tricked-out garage. This unit has been on and off the market since 2014, asking as much as $44 million, and now it’s down to $24,885,000.
Wilzig didn’t like how he was portrayed in “Wolf of Wall Street” and took to Facebook to criticize director Martin Scorsese for leaving out the fact that he drove a red Ferrari Testarossa. As you can see, the man is very serious about his cars.
The apartment includes the first floor of the building, the basement and a second floor. If you thought the garage looked impressive, this entire house is filled with high-tech stuff, including motion sensors, a safe room, DMX dimmers that you can control from your phone, and built-in speakers.
The first floor boasts the open-concept living room, dining room and kitchen that flows into an 800-square-foot patio. Special features on this floor include a built-in TV and a fireplace surrounded by white onyx in the living room, a 500 gallon aquarium between the living and dining areas, and a touchscreen TV in the kitchen that controls all the lighting, music, intercom and security cameras in the apartment.
The second floor holds all three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a pair of totally massive walk-in closets and an ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub. There’s also a safe room attached to the master bedroom, because, why not? The other two bedrooms also have large closets and their own bathrooms.
And finally, the basement is very much a man-cave. It’s got an office, TV room, “retreat room,” and rec room with speakers and a custom, sound-isolated sheetrock wall coated in specialty paint that acts as a movie screen projector. Of course, what apartment would be complete without a basement sauna and adjacent tanning bed? Not this one!
