The Real Simple Home 2023 has officially been unveiled in Brooklyn. And it’s available for purchase. Newly-minted Brooklyn Heights condo Quay Tower at 50 Bridge Park Drive has just listed a duplex penthouse asking $7,995,000. Crowned the magazine’s sixth Real Simple Home, the 2,789-square-foot duplex has been transformed by top designers and influencers, who have put a one-of-a-kind, personalized touch on the sleek space–including Bobby Berk, host of Netflix’s “Queer Eye,” who designed the living room.
The ODA New York-designed waterfront building is already notable for a 7,433 square-foot penthouse which sold for a record-breaking $20.3 million, and for attracting stars like Zendaya, who bought a unit in 2020. With 629 square feet of private outdoor space in addition to its sprawl of interior space, the home is a veritable decorators’ showcase with rooms created by:
- Bobby Berk, Emmy-nominated TV host of Netflix’s “Queer Eye” and author of “Right at Home”
- Michelle Gage, creative director of Michelle Gage Interiors
- Linda Hayslett, founder and principal designer of L.H. Designs
- Megan Hopp, founder and principal of Megan Hopp Design
- David Quarles IV, interior designer, jewelry designer, and content creator
- Kim and Scott Vargo, content creators behind the home and DIY brand Yellow Brick Home
“While not everyone can look out their window and see 360-degree views of New York City, we’re going to pack this space with design ideas and inspiration for all, no matter what size space you have,” Berk said in a statement earlier this year.
“My goal is to show people that there are endless possibilities when it comes to designing a home that you truly love and one that works for you, not the other way around.”
The layout includes three bedrooms, three full baths, and two powder rooms, with breathtaking Manhattan and Brooklyn views. Premium conveniences include a full-size vented Whirlpool washer/dryer, pre-wiring for motorized shades, multi-zone heating and cooling, and UV-insulated floor-to-ceiling windows. California-based AD100 firm Marmol Radziner oversaw the interior finishes.
The home’s state-of-the-art kitchen–decorated by Kim and Scott Vargo, the duo behind Yellow Brick Home–is anchored by a floating island topped in leathered-finish White Princess Quartzite. Additional highlights include a fully integrated Gaggenau appliance package, white oak cabinetry, and smoked bronze custom hardware. The adjacent dining area is the perfect size for casual and formal entertaining.
The primary bedroom, courtesy of David Quarles IV, has walls of windows for a daily dose of the Manhattan skyline, and a roomy walk-in closest. The elegant en-suite bath boasts Alabastrino Rustico travertine marble surfaces and radiant heated floors.
The secondary bedrooms (pictured here is a bedroom designed by Megan Hopp) also have en-suite baths and plenty of closet space. A berry-toned home office space was enhanced by Michelle Gage, creative director of Michelle Gage Interiors.
Not to be downplayed, the apartment’s outdoor space rivals the peerless interiors, with designer flourishes by Linda Hayslett, founder and principal designer of LH.Designs. A brag-worthy outdoor kitchen comes with a gas-line BBQ grill. A gas fireplace provides atmosphere.
Located at 50 Bridge Park Drive, Quay Tower overlooks Brooklyn Bridge Park and Pier 6, and offers non-stop views of the Manhattan skyline, New York Harbor, and Downtown Brooklyn from every unit within.
Amenities include a 2,500-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center overlooking the park, a children’s playroom, a music practice room, and two common rooftop spaces. Owners also get preferred access to the exclusive yacht service at One 15 Brooklyn Marina.
