Studio Allergutendinge’s Soul Box is a Portable Retreat for ‘Glamping’ in Nature
If you feel the need for a summer break away from the city but don’t want to rough it in the great outdoors there is always the option of “glamping“, or glamorous camping. For those want to keep the comforts of home in reach, this mobile wooden shelter by studio Allergutendinge is the ideal solution. It offers all the conveniences of home and can be transported just about anywhere.
Called Soul Box, this small shelter is perfect for spending a peaceful time immersed in nature. Inspiration for the design came from ‘the dream of Arcadia‘, an imaginary idyllic paradise where people could live unsophisticated yet happy lives in nature. Featuring two levels, the lower space was designed for cooking and eating, while the higher floor is for both, studying and contemplating the landscape through a big window. The bed is located at mid-height, serving as both, a sleeping place and a step towards the top.
The design features a front wall that unfolds to become a deck, and its roof can likewise be opened up. Soul Box was prefabricated from wood off-site and assembled on-site.
