Vasily Klyukin’s ‘Top Sexy’ Skyscraper Concept Shows Some Serious Leg
Just when you thought skyscraper design couldn’t get any more out there, Vasily Klyukin‘s vision for a FiDi tower blows even the tallest of towers out of the water. Unquestionably a very eye-catching and provocative—if not downright weird—design, Klyukin’s “Top Sexy Tower” concept is inspired by the stems of fashion models who can be found stomping across the streets of Manhattan.
What it could look like in Midtown
The shape of the tower is for the most part conventional, primarily pillar-shaped and tapering slightly as it rises. But jutting out from its south face is a massive leg wrapped in a fishnet stocking and donning a strappy stiletto that plants its heel into the street below. Though glassy and blue during the daytime, at night, the stocking lights up to a fiery red.
“This concept is very extravagant, even for the modern world,” Klyukin told Designboom. “Some will be shocked by this idea; some will find it beautiful and sexy; others, vulgar. But everybody, without exception, would want to observe such a tower or visit it at least once in a lifetime. If this building will become a hotel, it will always be crowded.”
A bold statement for a bold design.
