A new rental tower at the Brooklyn mega-development Pacific Park has opened applications for 94 middle-income apartments. Located at 662 Pacific Street, Plank Road is a 27-story residential building in Prospect Heights, with a total of 312 rental units and a public middle school at its base. New Yorkers earning 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the available studio, one-, and two-bedroom units, priced between $1,547/month and $3,219/month.
Developed by Greenland Forest City Partners in partnership with New York, Pacific Park is a long-in-the-works redevelopment of 22 acres in Downtown Brooklyn and Prospect Heights that includes six million square feet of residential space and thousands of new apartments, as well as new retail, offices, and open space.
The development, first introduced well over a decade ago, includes 15 buildings with roughly 6,400 residential units, 2,250 of them affordable and the Barclays Center. Plank Road, developed by the Brodsky Organization and designed by Marvel, is the fifth completed residential building at Pacific Park.
“Pacific Park prides itself on being a mixed-income community welcoming people from all backgrounds and walks of life,” Alexander Brodsky of the Brodsky Organization said. “The rent stabilized units at Plank Road will allow us to provide residents a greater value than they could find at market rate, and enhance the diverse community within the building and the neighborhood as a whole.”
Residences at Plank Road feature open floor plans, hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, state-of-the-art appliances, and views of the surrounding neighborhood and beyond.
The building offers residents laundry, bike storage, and a 24-hour doorman and concierge. Additional amenities include an 18th-floor landscaped terrace, a sprawling rooftop space with a dining area, grills, and a pool, a children’s playroom, and a well-equipped fitness center.
Leasing for the market-rate apartments launched earlier this summer, with current units priced from a $2,985/month studio, which includes a concession of two months free on a 16-month lease. Other market-rate availabilities start at $3,450/month for one-bedrooms and $5,275/month for two-bedroom apartments.
Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the affordable units until January 18, 2022. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
