Amy Schumer finally sheds her Upper West Side walk-up penthouse
Amy Schumer will have a little extra to celebrate over this week. According to the Post, the comedienne has finally found a buyer for her Upper West Side co-op. Schumer originally put the adorable pad up for sale in November 2015 for $2.075 million and it’s been on and off the market since then seeing several price chops. The home was last listed for $1.625 million and is said to be in contract with an unknown buyer for an unknown amount.
Despite boasting a lovely interior and a covetable location just steps away from the Museum of Natural History and Central Park, the walk-up penthouse has struggled on the market for more than 12 months.
As 6sqft previously reported, the 850-square-foot floor-through residences sits atop a historic 20-foot-wide townhouse on 129 West 80th Street and offers two wood-burning fireplaces, several skylights, and a private roof terrace. High ceilings also provide plenty of light, while details like a carved wooden mantle and built-in bookcases warm up the space, making for cozy quarters.
There is just one bedroom, but inside you’ll find one of the aforementioned fireplaces and a seating area along with deep windows and more built-in shelving. The master bath boasts a claw-foot soaking tub and separate shower. The other powder room has a washer/dryer.
A private staircase leads to the apartment’s roof terrace, which has been decked out with seating and bench storage, a gas grill, and a trellis. Stunning city views also encircle the leafy outdoor space.
Schumer originally paid $1.695 million for the home in 2014. She also purchased another penthouse on Riverside Drive for just over $12 million in October.
