New Views of Robert A.M. Stern’s Limestone-Clad 70 Vestry Street
The Related Companies has launched the teaser website for its upcoming Tribeca condominium 70 Vestry Street. Related CEO Jeff Blau signed the purchase contract in December 2013 and closed on the six-parcel lot from Ponte Equities for $115.3 million in early 2014. Site excavation is already well underway, and new renderings of the Robert A.M. Stern-designed building have now surfaced. The project will pay homage to the neighborhood’s distinctive warehouse architecture, and in true Stern fashion, will be clad in sumptuous French limestone.

A 25-block area of north Tribeca was rezoned in 2010 to foster mid-scale residential and mixed-commercial development that is in line with the neighborhood’s new character. Related’s project site lies just south of Jack Parker Corporation’s Truffles Tribeca, directly north of Aby Rosen’s proposed 42-unit condo at 67 Vestry Street, and shares its block with another probable condominium at 440 Washington Street by Ponte Equities.
The residences will span 14 floors and house 46 voluminous homes featuring majestic sunset views of the Hudson River and the harbor. Interiors will be handled by celebrity designer Daniel Romualdez. Related Sales LLC and Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group are the exclusive marketing and sales agents. According to CityRealty, the 152 currently listed condos in the neighborhood have a median asking price of $5.995 million or $2,376 per square foot. Sales at 70 Vestry will commence this spring, and occupancy is slated for January 2018.
